Description
The 14th World Congress of Syriac Studies (Symposium Syriacum), held jointly with the 12th Conference of Christian Arabic Studies, brings together leading scholars of Syriac and Christian Arabic literary and cultural heritage under the theme “Peace and Dialogue for the Preservation of Literary and Material Heritage.” Organized under the auspices of the Romanian Academy, this is the first time the quadrennial congress is held in Southeastern Europe. Sessions cover manuscript conservation, theology, linguistics and the historical role of Syriac and Arabic Christian traditions in transmitting knowledge.
