Biography

Prof. Dr. Thomas Kremer is Professor of Theology of the Christian East at the Catholic University of Eichstätt-Ingolstadt. His academic work focuses on the history, theology, liturgy, spirituality, and textual traditions of the Eastern Christian churches, with particular attention to Byzantine, Syriac, and other Oriental Christian traditions. He has a special interest in monasticism, pilgrimage, hymnography, liturgical theology, manuscript cultures, and the Christian traditions of the Levant. As a scholar and teacher, he combines historical, philological, theological, and liturgical approaches in order to make the rich heritage of Eastern Christianity accessible within broader theological and ecumenical contexts.
